Hi everyone, I am Emma, born in Heerlen, raised in Voerendaal but now living in Sittard for more than 7 years. I work at Fontys International Business School in Venlo, where I teach Marketing and Psychology and coordinate Erasmus+ projects for international students.

As such, I get to travel a lot and explore new countries and cultures. When travelling due to Covid-19 wasn’t possible anymore, I started exploring my own area of Zuid-Limburg more on my gravelbike and haven’t stopped since then.

I also really enjoy going to music festivals such as Graspop or Pukkelpop, visiting concerts and reading a good book. Twice a month I also work as a volunteer at Filmhuis Zicht, a very nice art cinema in Sittard.

At my work, we also have a buddy system for new international students and I see firsthand how valuable it can be. That was the main drive for me to become a buddy for expats.
